PHOA113: Week 4 - Announcements
Hi PHOA113,
We are currently in day one of week four;
welcome! I wanted to double check with everyone that we are clear as
to what is due this week. I have made a little checklist for you below.
RE: Architecture Photography by: Julius Shulman (for week 4)
Starting this week, you will be introduced to a new
photographer whose works relates to the topics within the module. This
week, we will be studying contemporary photographer, Shelby Lee Adams.
Please read the post and visit the links provided by day 3 of this
week.

RE: WEEK 4 – ASG. #1: “Indoor and Outdoor Architecture”
In this assignment, you
will continue to shoot using the manual setting on your DSLR and take
photographs of your interior space and exterior building under both
existing and artificial lighting.
By (see assignment for actual date), respond to the discussion questions assigned to you. Submit your responses to the appropriate Discussion Area.
By (see assignment for actual date),
start reviewing and responding to your peers' posts. Respond to at
least two of your peers’ posts by asking a question, posting a comment,
or adding a point to expand the discussion. Be honest, clear, and
concise.
Always use constructive language, even in criticism,
to work toward the goal of positive progress. Make sure to use your
course text or other research when possible in your responses.
RE: WEEK 4 – ASG. #2: “Photographic Miniatures”
In this
assignment, you will continue to shoot using the manual setting on your
DSLR. You will also continue to use your handheld light meter to measure
the light to determine your exposure. Be sure to allow yourself some
time to adjust your lights in order to create the scenario you desire.
You should also factor in some additional time to select your top
images.
By (see assignment for actual date), submit your contact sheet and PDF file to this Discussion Area. Follow current MLA guidelines for the writing style, spelling, grammar, and citation of sources.
By (see assignment for actual date), use this Discussion Area
to critique the work posted by at least two of your peers. Discuss
their ability to use focal length, light, and composition to make
specific photographic statements.
RE: WORKING AHEAD
Although it may be tempting
to work ahead, I would encourage all of you to work within the given
time frame. If you must work ahead, please refrain from submitting your
work until the given deadline.
