PHOA209: Week 9 - Announcements
Hi PHOA209,
We are currently in Day One of Week 9.
I wanted to double check with everyone that we are clear as to what is
due this week. I have made a little checklist for you below in regards
to this week's readings and due dates:
RE: WEEK 9 - READINGS
Be
sure to read through each section of Week 9's module thoroughly along
with the corresponding assigned readings, noted within the "Readings
& Assignments" section.
RE: WEEK 9 – ASG. #1: “Planning, Revisions—Final Draft”
When working on a comprehensive portfolio project, it is important to
be able to identify specific areas that need improvement. On the basis
of previous feedback and goals, you should start to work on any
remaining goals and areas of weakness with regards to your portfolio,
résumé, and written statement. You will finalize your goals and journal.
The final portfolio must demonstrate the skills that are the key components of your program of study, demonstrate your personal brand and style, and be targeted towards a specific market audience, whether this be a future employer or potential client. (Further details in the body of the assignment.)
Perform targeted improvements to your portfolio, statement, and résumé. Use the following guide to understand the expectations for this assignment. This assignment consists of the following parts: Shooting, Updated Files, Updated Portfolio.
Submit your work to the Discussion Area (date specified in assignment).

RE: WEEK 9 – ASG. #2: “Promotional Pieces”
For this assignment, you will design a promotional
postcard for your photography business that will work effectively for
your intended market segment. You will create a design for a 5"x7"
postcard (front and back) that will utilize your portfolio images and
direct recipients to your web portfolio site.
Submit your work to the Discussion Area (date specified in assignment).
By (date specified in assignment) review and comment on the autobiographies, resumes, and written statements posted by at least two of your peers. When

Although
it may be tempting to work ahead, I would encourage all of you to work
within the given time frame. If you must work ahead, please refrain
from submitting your work until the given deadline.
