PHOA209: W4A1: Feedback

Hi Tori,

You will find my feedback for your W4A1 in the form of “group video feedback” & “individual written feedback".  The video is located above (at the bottom of the assignment).  Please ensure that you watch the entire length of the video in order to gain the most insight.

RE: Created a web portfolio and completed the Profile section, including statement and résumé information.
Student created a web portfolio using the required Bēhance.net. Students have been asked to make corrections to the information that is marked with a "NO" for W5A1. Afterwards, please respond to this feedback noting that it has been completed.  Student included the following:
  • Name  - YES
  • Profile Image - YES (although I’d like to see you change your logo. This has been noted in past feedback. For your W6A1, I would like you to have a logo that includes a graphic image of some sort vs. only relying on text.)
  • About Me – YES, although I'd like to see you include your revised "artist statement" in this section: identity, style, directions, strengths.
  • Work Experience – NO - refer to the group video critique for details on to make your work experience visible (resume)
  • E-mail – NO; see details for how to add your e-mail in the video.
  • Location – YES
  • Phone – NO yet this was not required; Students are more than welcome to put a work number or a Google Voice number in this section of the Profile Page.  For details on what a Google Voice # actually are - check out the link below. This is a great way to establish a work number for free:
RE: Included 15–20 portfolio images, made appropriate customization to layout and design, and included the required information for the portfolio and individual images.

Although you included 15 images, your web portfolio is only showing that you've shot two food dishes. I would encourage you to enhance your portfolio by showing more diversity in your subject matter. Moving forward: you should have no more than 3 images per photo shoot. This may require you to shoot additional work in order to meet this requirement.

At this point, your current body of work is not meeting the standards for the Associate's degree.  How do you see yourself improving in terms of shooting additional food dishes to help fill out your portfolio? What's the next step you need to take in order to do this? Do you have any future photo shoots coming up? Perhaps one that is in addition to the requirements for this class?

Please note: all students are asked to adjust the file size of his/her images to be 11 inches (at the longest dimension) and 200ppi. Further details in video.

RE: Provided a brief description of your process in creating the website and the URL.

Student’s description was handled well; discussed process of creating Bēhance Profile page.

Information regarding your Peer Critiques will be listed within the Grade Book.  Please feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions and/or concerns.
