PHOA209: Problems & Solutions - Week 7 - W7A1: Prints & Portfolio - Plan and Prepare NOW
Hi Class,
I've created a video tutorial that goes over these details in regards to the assignment. Note this video has been created for two classes: PHOA109 & PHOA209.
PHOA109 - your prints are created for W4A1.
PHOA209 - your prints are created for W7A1. (In the past - these were due for W4A2; please do not be confused by this.)
I
just wanted to remind you that starting this week you will begin
printing your portfolio images (after your Skype Meeting). You have the
option of either printing your images yourself, or sending out to a professional lab to have the work done for you. Details on which professional lab to use is noted in W7A1.
Your first batch of prints will be due & shown for W9A1.
In either case, the prints will need to be 11” x 14”. So, if you are printing yourself, be sure to plan to have premium photographic paper on hand for that process next week. If you are ordering your prints from a professional lab, you should start your research and planning now. A "pearl", "semi-glass", or "luster" finish is recommend for paper; avoid "glossy".

You are required to achieve high-quality, professional prints for your final portfolio. Therefore, you must choose a professional photographic printing lab to use for your printing assignments. You may not
use Walmart, Costco, Walgreens or any other amateur (as opposed to
professional) oriented lab. If in doubt, please contact me well ahead
of time.
Remember, planning is the key for the printing assignments. If you choose to order your prints from a professional lab, you need to ensure that your prints are in your possession before the due date for W9A1. No exceptions will be made.

In addition, you will need to have an 11” x 14” Prat binder in your possession that will contain your printed images by Week 9. If you haven’t already ordered yours, you should start that process immediately to ensure your binder arrives in time.
No exceptions will be made for order complications in the case of the prints or the Prat portfolio binder.
