PHOA113: W3A1: Feedback

Hi Sheralyn,

Below you will find my feedback for your W3A1 in the form of “group video feedback”. To view your group video feedback, please scroll up.  It’s been posted in the body of the assignment; just below the rubric.

  • RE: Created 40 new photographs of textured and smooth surface subjects: 20 frames taken of each subject under hard light using one studio light (and reflector) plus images documenting use of handheld light meter and wide-angle shots of lighting scheme using effective technical lighting choices, correct exposure, white balance, and focus.
  • RE: Created new photographs using a 8:1 light ratio with one studio light and a white reflector as a fill source that communicate surface characteristics.
You completed the basics of the assignment: 40 new images; you showed the use of your handheld light meter; you showed the wide-angle lighting scheme showing the use of your modeling light for the first set of 20 images, although you may have used a second fill light alongside the modeling light vs. a reflector. I was glad to see that you used your gray card, although I think it would have been a good idea to use it with the table top exposed to consider that warm tone of the table.  Details are within the group video critique. Please note: your contact sheets have been re-attached; please be sure to review it after you've watched the video.  Details regarding top images will be noted in the gradebook; keep these images in mind for your W6A1.

RE: Provided a thoughtful, detailed discussion of your technical and creative work.
Student’s written portion was handled well and met the 200-word mark.
