Hi Tanell,
Below are the rubric and your feedback for W1A2 in the group video
format. Please note: students are required to watch the entire video
vs. the sections that refer to your work. The rubric noted below covers
three out of the five sections listed in the assignment; information regarding your top images & peer responses will be left within the gradebook.

APPLIED CAMERA LIGHT METER AND REFLECTIVE METERING TECHNIQUES TO CREATE
NEW PHOTOGRAPHS OF 1 SUBJECT USING INDOOR AND OUTDOOR NATURAL LIGHT,
APPLYING EFFECTIVE TECHNICAL LIGHTING CHOICES, EXPOSURE, WHITE BALANCE
AND FOCUS. THE MAIN FOCAL POINT SHOULD BE IN SHARP FOCUS; ALL IMAGES
SHOT IN RAW FORMAT:
- All
of student’s images were shot under natural light; both indoors and
outdoors as noted in Step 3b of the assignment’s instructions.
- Student's
assignment showed an understanding towards ensuring the items were in
sharp focus, and how to expose an image properly using the light meter
in the camera.
- Images were shot in raw format and the contact sheet was created according to course standards
- Further details are noted within the group video critique; please be sure to review the entire video.
- All
of student’s images were shot under natural light; both indoors and
outdoors as noted in Step 3b of the assignment’s instructions.
- RE:
CREATED NEW PHOTOGRAPHS THAT DISPLAY AN UNDERSTANDING OF EXPOSURE
THROUGH BRACKETING SHOTS BY ADJUSTING THE APERTURE WHEN NECESSARY;
APPLIED WHITE BALANCE PRE-SETTINGS TO DISPLAY A “NORMAL” COLOR
TEMPERATURE WITH DIVERSE COMPOSITIONS PER SET OF IMAGES:
- Student's images showed an understanding of how to bracket shots by changing the aperture setting.
- Student's
assignment showed a start towards understanding how to adjust the white
balance for the lighting conditions - although images taken indoors
were too warm & student is encouraged to attempt to adjust white
balance manually with a gray card in the future.
- Note:
Your contact sheet has been re-attached. Please take note of the images
with the GREEN boxes around them; this signifies that I'm suggesting
this image to be a "top shot" for your portfolio.
- Student's images showed an understanding of how to bracket shots by changing the aperture setting.
- RE: PROVIDED A THOUGHTFUL, 200-WORD ESSAY DISCUSSION STUDENT’S TECHNICAL AND CREATIVE CHOICES THROUGHOUT THE SHOOT:
Student’s
written portion met the 200-word mark and discussed technical and
creative choices well. In terms of grammar, spelling, and sentence
structure, student's assignment was very well written.
