PH323: W5A1: Feedback

Hi Darwin,

Below you will find my feedback for your W5A1 in the form of “group video feedback”; details from the rubric are discussed in the video.  Information regarding your Peer Critiques will be listed within the Grade book.  Please feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions and/or concerns.

RE: Submitted a contact sheet that contained a test subject that demonstrated full range of the environment and equipment that:
  • Has correct exposure and demonstrates technical knowledge of camera and lighting control.
  • Exhibits creativity with angles and composition (moving camera and subject frequently to explore the angles).
  • Shows attention to composition and design elements.
  • Follows instructions and requirements for assignment.
Student's assignment showed an understanding of choosing a strong location for W5A2.  Student is encouraged to push composition further for W5A2: shoot vertical and horizontal images, adjust focal length, depth of field, and point of view.

Images were shot with the correct exposure. Did not include the required model in the assignment with the key, fill, and hair light or the use of the handheld light meter.

RE: Explored a pose or find a new shooting angle that drastically altered the photographic outcome of the shoot

Further details regarding lighting, focusing, composition, exposure, and overall approach to this assignment has been noted in the video critique. Students are expected to show an understanding of the feedback received regarding suggested “top images” for upcoming final assignment.

RE: Provided a 500-word production document that depicts the proposed photographic process and lighting solution

Your description was well written, discusses your target market, although fell short of the 500-word mark.
