You
submitted 3 top images that represent your chosen 3 sub-genres of
portraiture, although I've pointed out a few "suggested top" images
within the group video critique.
In terms of lighting, exposure, technical knowledge of camera and strobe lighting: I made a few suggestions within the group video critique for how to improve. When working with strobe lights, ensure that your ISO is set to 100 and that your shutter speed is slower than 1/200th of a second. Details as to why are noted in the group video critique; I also point out a few posts in the Questions for the Professor section that go over these topics. You'll also hear me discuss that all students are encouraged to position subject at least 6 feet in front of backdrop.
Student's composition was handled well and is encouraged to continue to "push" composition; avoid cropping subject's off at edge of frame; continue to shoot from a variety of angles. Moving forward: try to block your subject's face less and also avoid cropping subject off at the edge of the frame. Student is encouraged to review the posts in the Questions for the Professor section regarding composition.

- RE: POSTED A CONTACT SHEET CONTAINING A MINIMUM OF 45 (15 PER GENRE) PHOTOGRAPHS AND INCLUDED 150 WORD EXPLANATION ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHIC PROCESS AND PORTRAIT GENRE
Student's written statement was handled well; discussed both the technical and creative choices made throughout the shoot. Statement met the 200-word mark; student is encouraged to use Microsoft Word to ensure the proper length of all entries.
