The question may remain: what do I do with this grid and how can it help my photography? Well, I'm glad you asked! In short, a grid can help you direct your light in one particular area. For your hair light, you'll want to aim the light at the back of your subject's head - providing a little rim of light around your subject's head... hence the name, "hair light"!
