PH222: Week 3 - Announcements
Hi PH222,
We are currently in Day One of Week Three. I wanted to double check with everyone that we are clear as to what is due this week.
Be sure to read through each section of Week 3's module thoroughly along with the corresponding assigned readings, noted within the "Readings & Assignments" section.
RE: WEEK 2 – ASG. #1: “Portrait Exercise: Exploring Your Possibilities of Location”
In this exercise you will be shooting one subject
in a ¾ length portrait, using a 3-light setup, and showing how versatile
you can be on location. This week we discussed the differences between
location and studio, and more importantly in regards to this exercise,
location scouting. Location scouting is a key ability a photographer
must possess to be successful. This ability allows you to identify,
problem solve, and adapt to your specifically chosen environment to get
the photograph you need.
RE: WEEK 2 – ASG. #2: “An Exploration of Age”
This week you discussed ¾ length
portraits and several instances in which they are used as a portraiture
technique. In this assignment you will be performing a ¾ length portrait
in your studio for a child, a teen, a middle-aged individual, and an
elderly individual. You will also be photographing your overall studio
set up, the lighting equipment, stands, and the background support
system using the light available. Finally, you will create a 150-word
statement describing your photographic process.

RE: WORKING AHEAD
Although it may be tempting to work ahead, I would encourage all of you to work within the given time frame. If you must work ahead, please refrain from submitting your work until the given deadline.
